Privacy Policy

AUverse · Effective May 2026

Website: https://auverse.net

This Policy describes how AUverse Inc. ("AUverse", "we") handles personal information when you use the websites and applications we offer under the AUverse name (the "Platform"). It supplements our Terms of Service. If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Platform.

1. Who is responsible

AUverse Inc., a corporation incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act, with its principal place of business in Quebec, Canada, is responsible for the personal information we collect about you in connection with the Platform.

Privacy questions and requests: privacy@auverse.net. General support: hello@auverse.net.

2. What we collect

2.1 Account and profile

When you create an account we collect identifiers and profile fields you provide or that the product requires, such as your email address, username, display name, and optional profile image. We record when your email address is verified and when you accept our Terms of Service, including the version identifier.

2.2 Terms acceptance and audit trail

When you accept (or re-accept) our Terms of Service, we store the time of acceptance, the Terms version, and a best-effort record of the network address we associate with that request (for example from standard proxy headers when our infrastructure provides them). We also keep a separate audit log entry that may include a snapshot of your email and username at the time of acceptance, together with your account identifier, for security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

2.3 Content you create

Content you upload or publish on the Platform (such as AU stories, timelines, posts, images, and related metadata) is stored and processed so we can provide the service to you and to readers.

2.4 Technical and security information

Like most online services, we receive technical data from your browser or device and from our hosting and security providers, such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, timestamps, and diagnostic logs. We use this information to operate the Platform, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

3. Why we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • create and secure your account and sessions;
  • provide, maintain, and improve the Platform and its features;
  • send transactional messages (such as sign-in codes and important notices about your account or the service);
  • enforce our Terms, detect fraud or misuse, and protect users and the public; and
  • meet legal obligations and defend our legitimate interests where permitted by law.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing. We do not use what you create on AUverse to train generalized AI models for unrelated products unless we introduce a separate, clearly disclosed program and consent or lawful basis where required.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in, remember preferences such as theme, and protect the Platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in or parts of the product from working.

5. Service providers and location

We use trusted service providers (for example cloud hosting, databases, email delivery, and security) to run the Platform. Those providers process personal information on our instructions and may store or process data in Canada, the United States, or other countries. Where personal information is transferred outside Quebec or Canada, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, accounting, and security requirements. When you delete your account where the product allows it, we delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example aggregated statistics with no identifiable individual, or information we are required to keep or that we reasonably need to resolve disputes).

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, to obtain a copy in a portable format where applicable, or to object to certain processing. Quebec's private-sector privacy law (Law 25) and federal PIPEDA may apply to you. You may also file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise your rights, contact privacy@auverse.net. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Children

The Platform is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and, when the change is material, use reasonable notice such as email or an in-product message. The effective date at the top will change when we do.
